An Introduction to Litchfield County Computer

By Matt Smith, President of Litchfield County Computer

This is intended to be the first in a series of articles that will showcase Litchfield County Computer and the services it offers. This article will introduce Litcfield County Computer.

Litchfield County Computer was started in October 2004 after I discovered that jobs in the IT field were extremely difficult to locate following my graduation from Western Connecticut State University in 2002. I graduated from Western with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems with a concentration in computer security. What this means is that I understand the unique needs that people that use computers in business can have.

In addition to my formal training I have 27 years of experience working with computers, having started out on a Apple IIC when I was five. I then progressed into working with PC's at the age of ten. The amount of experience that I have working around computers means that if you have a computer problem I have probably seen your problem before and can diagnose your computer quickly, usually within 24 hours.

Litchfield County computer also takes great pride in delivering honest, old fashioned, excellent service, something that I feel is lacking in the IT industry. If I feel that your computer is not worth fixing I will tell you so and help you find the right computer for you. I won't just fix your old computer for the sole purpose of getting as much money out of the job as possible. Some shops that repair computers also will install pirated (stolen) software on your computer. The two most common programs that are pirated are Microsoft Windows and Micrsoft Office. These shops believe that by giving the customer “free” software that they are doing them a service. In reality they are actually hurting the customer by denying them access to important updates and programs that can help protect their computer because of the pirated software. Litchfield County Computer does not pirate software. While doing business this way may seem more expensive to the customer on paper the customer receives a much better value because everything on their computer is correct and legal.
